Re: TODA vtec killer cams (Midori Green)
vtec isn't useful in race specific engines
VVT adds weight, and race engines normally are designed to run constantly at higher rpms... in other words, they make all their power at the top end... or in a specific range... look at f1 engines, they have no vvt.
thus there is no use for any kind of VVT.

its like running vtec all the time with those cames (VTEC less) i think its kinda stupid to have in a DD pretty much full out all motor race car with high compression and having to use 100 octane fuel they sound great tho. Im sure people who have them always get "hey man i think somethings wrong with ur motor" saying to them all the time search it on youtube theres an ek coupe with high CP pistons and the toda VTEC killer cams . Plus if u get those cams u also have to get the whole valvetrain package not just the cams.

Re: TODA vtec killer cams (turbojdmhatch)
yea i noticed.. im not in the market for them i already have skunk2 pro series cams i just wanted to know more about them because all motor hondas are mostly about vtec and thats where the power really shines so it was odd when i read that it gets rid of it

correct me if im wrong but i dont think these cams eliminate vtec cause vtec is just a more aggressive cam lobe on the cam so it pops but toda made the whole cam the same aggressive size lobe so in a sense its like having vtec all the time dont take my word though i might be wrong go to todas official site

Re: (dirtyharryhatch)
yes.... essentially you are in vtec all the time.... you don't have the smaller cam lobes for low end rpm operation/power.... you just have super aggressive lobes all the time.... which is like vtec being in operation continuously....
you can hear cam loping bad in them when they are idling.... it's kind of funny.... like a cross between a high hp v8 and a 4-banger.... they sound like they are going to stall.... very irratic idle
