Is tire shine good for your tires? What if you spray entire tire?
Alright so ive seen alot of people at shows use tire spray, never really tried it, but got some questions...Does it really have any other benefit, other then....well...shining? Does it make the tire healthier in a way, prevent something blabla?
Also, what about those people at shows who spray the ENTIRE tire, like even the surface that touches the ground while driving, can those people even drive on those tires?

i remember a thread on the altezza board, this guy armor all'd his entire tire (treads as well) went out in the rain and wrecked his car.
most show cars are driven up a trailer, down the trailer, not to the grocery store

Don't spray your tread. It's the equivalent of driving through puddles of baby oil.
And spray is ****, by the way. Use a good gel, like Meguiar's High Endurance tire gel .... smells like melted grape popsicles, and provides a nice wet look with a deep shine. I also use it to dress trim.

^^ Great advice, think about how slippery the stearing wheel is if you get Armor All on it... now think about what that would do in reference to the asphalt if you spray your tires. People just need to apply common sense. Why do you think the first 5 minutes of rain is the worst? Because the oil on the surface...

First, you need to scrub your tires when you wash your car.
Second, don't glob it on. Nice even strokes with a foam applicator.

I wouldn't use Armor All on the interior. It tends to build up and can discolor the interior. I prefer Meguiar's rubber and vinyl cleaner & conditioner.

A spray of Simple Green will help break up the gunk that's already on his tires too. Spray it on the tires while the car's still dry. This will make it work harder. Then let it set in a little before you wet it down.
I put so little tire shine on that it barely makes the tires shiny. I can't stand a gleaming tire. Looks cheap imo.

I agree, ArmorAll sucks, I was just using that as reference. Meguires FTW!! It makes your interior look nice and clean without the greasey look.
