Tip on changing timing belt on B18c
I haven't seen this in any of the manuals or read anyone posting it. I talked to a mechanic where I live and he told me there are two holes that go thru each cam that line up when the crank is lined up with the mark on the block and the cams are lined up with each other. In other words, when you have everything in place to install the belt you can put two pins in the holes and it will hold your cams in place and keep them from moving when you put the belt on. They are in the middle of the cover over the cams, each side has two holes but only one hole will line up on each side. Tried it yesterday, worked great. Just a little something that makes it easier.

Mark the timing belt and gear before you remove it (with a marker)... and then line up the new belt with the old and mark to the appropriate spot. Then put it back on, while lining up the marks. This will prevent you from having to worry with setting the timing on the vehicle.

Will that really work? You wouldn't have to mark the water pump, would you? I think it spins by itself, regardless of the cam/crank marks and timing.
