Tint Removal
When I purchased my 2000 civic it had was tinted but i dont like the tint. I have takin all the tint off except the rear window. Does anyone know if you can just take the tint off the rear like you can on all windows or will the defroster come off with the tint. Is there glass between the two. Has anyone takin off the rear tint?

Re: (Stylinhonda)
when doing the back go ahead a pull off the tint(hopefully it's not shitty and keeps ripping) then get a SOS pad with some soap and water and scrub it down. It wont hurt your defroster lines. It helps alot when doing it in the sun.

I dont know if this might be the same method you can use but when I removed my tint from my rear window
I unbolted my window and set it on the lawn (i got a hatch). I took some windex and just soaked the inside of the window and then i took some acetone in a spray bottle and sprayed some on then following with another soaking of windex.
I then took a garbage bag and covered the inside, the bag will stick to the window and trap all that moisture, i let it sit in the sun and get nice and hot for a good 2 hours.... the tint then came off with ease and i didnt scrap a single defronster line

Re: Tint Removal (Stylinhonda)
You guys are advising to go the hard way.
The easy way - take a heatgun (or a strong blowdryer) and heat up the tint, peel a corner with a razor blade, and pull slowly, making sure that the section you are pulling is HOT. The glue will come right off with the tint. Pull slowly, take your time. You will save time in the long run by doing this method as opposed to scrubbing glue off your windows.
No scrubbing your rear window with a SOS brush in an awkward position for hours.

Re: Tint Removal (YOUR MAMA)
Alright I will try some of these. I used 409 (a local tint guy suggested) and it worked alright. The tint keep comming off at like an inch at a time. There is still some streeking residue on the windows too. But ill try the rear proly today.

Steel wool will NOT scratch window's
windex, wool and 10 minutes and your window is spotless use elbow grease.
spray alot of windex down, scrub entire window with steel wool, wipe away with paper towel = perfect window's

here is the easiest way:
spray a shitload of windex on the windex on the window then put a garbage bag on it let it sit in the sun for a few hours, so while its in the sun have a few beers! then come back and the tint should stick to the garbage back and not peel off the defroster lines. it worked for me.
good Luck

Re: Tint Removal (DelSolSiR)
So you spray the rear window with tons of Windex, then place a black/white? Garbage bag on the window and let it sit in the sun? Then peel and it should all come off?

Re: Tint Removal (Stylinhonda)
yeah use black. the purpose of the color is to absorb heat. the plastic keeps the tint wet also.

doesnt matter what color it is.. ive used black and white and they both work the same.. but yea my friends brother does tint up at Honda and they use some ammonia mixed with other stuff.. we just call it Pink stuff since its pink and all..
just let it sit for about 3-4 hrs under the plastic garbage bag and that **** will peel off real easy
