Tint Laws????
Just got busted for having 20% tint on all of my windows. I live in maryland, does anyone know the tint laws? I see tons of suvs and vans with dark windows in the back and on the sides but not on driver and passenger side doors. Does this mean i can have the dark tint on my windows, just not on driver and passenger sides.
I know 30% is the limit for front side windows in VA. No tint on windshield except for a blue band across the top for glare. VA is pretty strict on everything having to do with cars, I dunno about MD though.

In most states the tint on the front just has to be lighter than on the back. EX: Back=20% here whereas you can't go darker than 35% on the front.

the back windows of a car in Va is 35% and 50% for the front windows and nothing on the front windshield. SUVs and all other passenger vehicless don't have limits on the back side windows or back windshield that is why you see them riding around with their cars blacked out. Percentage Numbers represent amount of light transmission. As for Maryland it is 35% all the way around except for the windshield. Virginia is pretty strict about the automobile laws. Virginia is a place where driving a hooked-up car is a crime!
