Default timing problem?

I put the car in first and hit the gas and the car slugs. It feels bogged down till the rpms rise up then it takes off. Then when I shift to second it does the same thing. sluggish then back to normal. I think its timing problem. So I check code but light just stays on. Guys what would be the problem.

I've seen it a thousand times..... its happened to me before. If not a leak in the vacuum lines, then definately the timing.

so you are throwing a check engine light? Its not giving you a code when you check it? Also if its your timing then check to make sure its all lined up.

I had the same problem a few days ago. I posted and I was told timing was off. Sure enough. Adjusted it and I am back to normal. Here's my post. Hope it helps.

Get a timing gun and a Haynes Manual. Easy to do. Just make sure you do it right.
