ok heres a short coverage of whats going on, need opinions things i should do.

ok so here it goes.

Timing Belt: Poped the timing belt 2 days ago. replaced it and the water pump, car fired up. lost alot of power and the car is very shaky and like its almost out of gas but its not.

Headers: they are 24 times louder than they were before my belt went. they all say cause my timing was off and now im hearing what my headers should sound like.

New Engine?: ok im ganna go do a compression test to see if i bent or damaged a valve which im sure i did. should i get a valve job or just damn drop the engine and get another one? money is VERY tight i just want the same exact engine D series with everything working at a good price.

Belts: i replaced my 3 belts and THEY ARE SQUEEKY AS HELL. i put a little soap on them just to see if it was the belts or the altanator bearings. it was the belts cause the soap caused it to stop. what do i do to make it stop my dad said belt dressing will make it worse so let them get worn in.

this will be my only and last thread i create, ill just edit the topic header, i always have issues and ill just keep this thread here about me and my car issues. so let the opinions roll in guys.

you did not set the motor to TDC when you replaced your timing belt.
im sure your pistons were upper-cutting your valves so if you want you can either
1) buy a head with good valves or
2) buy skunk2 forged valves and put them on

i got for #1 if your on a budget.

your belt slipped off while you were driving? you had to do serious damage to yoru motor. ie. bent rods, valves. take off the head, and check valves and the bowel. turn the crank and see that 2 pistons at a time come to the top evenly. if its sh*t. get another D from the junk yard. they are a dime a dozen and super cheap. like $200 for the whole swap here

omg man, it seems like you have a new problem to deal with every day!!! good luck figuring out this problem.

If you are sure the timing is dead on after doing the timing belt you most likely have bent valves, which would explain why it is so much louder as well. check for cracks on the header too.

as far as noisy belts, how much play do the belts have? They can't be too tight, but they can't be too loose either.

yea there not loose but not tight either. and yea unseen i kno my damn car aint worth a damn lol.

im prolly ganna go to a junkyard and get another D. i heard replacin the heads andvalves ect ect aint a good idea

NOTE. this is my daily car driven so i need to know best/cheapest way to do this.

even if i gotta get a new motor.

Most likely you bent some valves. If you arent comfortable doing head work, find another head and stick it on. Paying for new valves and paying someone else to do the labor will cost more than a used head.


If your brand new belts are squeaky, tighten them up.

yup i bent some valves =\. as fir the belts iv tighten'd then and lossened them idk. i think its there pulleys that there on thats squeaking. idk not too sure

When you replaced the timing belt, did you put the crankshaft "key" thing back on the pulley? It's possible for that to slip I suppose and cause annoying squeaks.

no iv already found out where the squeakings were comin from i put some soap on the 3 belts and the sqeaking stoped but it shortly came back so im not sure what do to
