Default timing belt question

I had posted this question before, left for a couple of days, came back and now couldnt find it.
I just acquired a 94 HB with the stock 1.5.
Is this an interference motor?
Should I buy an auto parts store timing belt or get it from the dealer...for the better supposed quality?
Advanced auto had one for 40 bucks, but it was a brand I've never heard of.

thanks

I'm 90% sure it is an interference motor. If your wanting to do a little tuneup be sure to change the water pump when you do the timing belt. Also, I think a new timing belt from honda is about $55.

Search on google for "Son's Acura" they have an online catalog and have great prices and fast shipping too.

Personally I try to buy Honda Dealer parts, they are probably the best quality stuff you can get. With Autozone stuff it will probably work fine but usually I spend the little extra and get oem stuff for peace of mind.

well, I guess 90% is enough to convince me it needs to be done immediately.
I have no idea when it was last done.

I had heard some older models were not interference....
I guess since it is only 55 I'll just get the factory belt.

Did plan on replacing the water pump also at the same time...plan to go factory with that also...

Just a tip for you...

If you're signed in and want to look at a post that you recently posted in (one of the last five topics) look where it says you're logged in as. Look to the right, and you will see log out. Then continue to the right, and you will see recent topics. Click it and it will show the last five topics you posted in. Then choose the topic you wish to view.

To recap my answer from your prior topic:

It is interference, you do want to replace the tensioner at the same time as the belt (though many people do not because they're too lazy/cheap) and the autozone/ advance auto belt would work fine.

thanks for the tip and also the info.
I wasnt sure about the quality of an auto store brand if it was an interference engine.
I will replace the tensioner also..thanks for the info again.
