Ticking Problem. Lifters? Valve spring?
I have a ticking after 3k rpm but its only under a load. When the clutch is pushed in i can rev as high as I want and no noise. When I drive it and the clutch is engaged and I hit 3k rpm it ticks. I have d16y5 vtec-e. Any ideas? Been going on for few months. Not getting better or worse and consistently happens at 3k rpm

Also has a very choppy idle after i get it past 3k rpm for more than a few seconds. Like if i floor it and then let it idle it runs rough. Usually driving it around for 10min normal makes the rough idle go away

it is certainly valvetrain. cuz the sound is coming from valvetrain and i cant seem to hear a difference from valve to valve with a stethascope

nothing really to take it apart to do it... pull the valve cover off and adjust them... pick up a haynes manual, it has everything in there
