Default Throttle Body

Does anyone know where I can get an OEM 2000 SI Throttle Body? My check engine light came on and Honda said that the TPS is getting low voltage and that I have to replace my throttle body as well as the cable. Can someone help me cause hold is charging mad money. $775 for the Throttle body and $110 for the cable.

Please e-mail me @ jleib@mac.com or here!

To replace your TPS you don't have to replace the whole TB, much less the throttle cable.

Get an Edelbrock TB from Summit Racing. It comes with all the necessary sensors and it'll give you better throttle response.

If you're really stuck on OEM, here you go: http://www.hondaautomotivepart...y.jsp

They have great prices. Good luck.

I checked out the link and everything is broken into parts. Here's what i'm looking at:

19506 004 GASKET NO COLOR 4.12 Qty:
19507 005 BODY ASSY. (GF98D) NO COLOR 438.20 Qty:

The last one is the full assembly. The dealership told me that low voltage is the problem. Will replacing the TPS only, fix this problem? If so is this the correct part:

19483 013 SENSOR SET, MAP NO COLOR 48.46 Qty:

I apologize if i'm nieve on this subject. I'm very unfamiliar with this and I just want to get this fixed without paying much money. Thanx guys

Yes, replacing only the TPS will fix your problem. If you don't know how or don't want to risk it, any D-, B- or H- series throttle body will fit your intake manifold. Even a throttle body from a 2003 Odyssey fits my 1993 D16Z6, so don't be afraid to junkyard crawl for a decent part.

You came to the right place for help. It's what we're here for .

how would I go about just replacing the TPS? When and if I have to remove the Throttle body, do I have to replace the gasket with an OEM gasket? If I were to only replace the TPS whats the part number or where do I purchase one?

The TB gasket is reusable. It's almost like a sheet of paper.

And to get the TPS off I think you need to cut a small line with a dremil in the "rivets" holding the TPS to the TB. They are threaded like a screw and will need to be backed out.

You may need help getting the TPS adjusted correctly if you're asking these questions though.

I highly suggest replacing the gasket, and go ahead and use the part number that you would have originally employed for your car's OEM equipment. It'll make things easier and ensure no vacuum leaks.

damn, i'm driving myself crazy. I didnt think it was gonna cost this much. I'm selling the car in two weeks to my roommate and i need to get this fixed. I can't find where I can get just the TPS. Plus, the fact that I have to dremel the rivets and find hardware doesn't seem easy to me since I dont have many tools around. I have a dremel though. I'm concerned with configuring the TPS sensor as well. I have no idea how to do that.

The dremil is cake. You need a cutoff wheel for it and you can put one small line across each rivet to unscrew them. Essentially you're turning them into screws.

I'm sure your local Autozone or something carries TPSs.

cool. Second, since I have a CEL for low voltage to TPS, what do I set the voltage to on the new TPS? Thats the only thing that needs to be configured right? If I were to replace the entire throttle body, how do I know how tight to make the cable if i'm not using an OEM throttle body? This is driving me crazy. I bet its easier than i'm making it.

After I dremel the rivets out, what size bolts or screw do I use to hold the new TPS in place?

Alright I spent all day so far trying to find a TPS sensor for my car. I am going ahead with doing it myself. I printed out the Helm's stuff and i'm ready to take this on. I just need to find where I can buy a TPS. Autozone doesn't have it. CTS is a company that makes sensors but no luck with that. thanx

You can reuse the ones you have.

The top of the Rivets look like this to begin with ( )
Essentially, you'll be making them look like this ( | ) so that you can unscrew them with a screwdriver and re-use them.

the rivets have threads on them? If, by accident, I destroy the rivets what do I use. Still no advice on where to get a TPS from?

hey everyone, I just thought. I have hondacare and the extended warranty. Shouldn't this be covered under the warranty? That would be great!
