Testing Voltage on O2, is this safe and will it work?
I am having the same problem with my oxygen sensor as other people are throwing a code # 01. to measure the 'real voltage' sould it be safe t run wire from the oxygen sensor wires(in parallel) that is connected to the factory harness and run the wires nto my cabin where i can use the volt meter to measure the volts while im driving? will that work? or will any other ideas work? THe reason why i want to do it while driving is that the light only comes on while driving nad not when at idle.
my 'theory' is that if i have a bad plug on hte sensor, the point that im testing it at(that is before the plug on the sensor side) then the sensor will read good voltage. if the plug is good and the sensor is bad then id be reading bad voltage. i have a new sensor in it so im expecting to read good voltage.

Will it be safe? Sure. Will you see voltage drop across the length of wire you're using? Sure.
The accuracy will be a lot more "real" if you just hook up a meter at the O2 sensor. Yes, I know it's a PITA, but it's the best way to go about things.

while its running?
The points where i would be measuring is before the harness, between the plug and the sensor to see if the plug has resistance that ismaking my cel come on
