Default testing a power window motor?

sup guys. how do you check if the OEM power window motors are working? i bought the ek coupe window motors but i want to check them before i go ahead and install them. can i just hook up 12v power to the motors or do i have to wire it all up to the switches in order for it to move?

please help, thanks.

use a power wire and a ground from the battery terminals try them both ways on the plug, ex: power, ground = up ground, power = down

what he said.. i just basically jumped mine from the harness that connects to the motor.. i used a jump box and to pieces of wire and put one on the ground and one to power and touched it to the prong on the harnes and my window went up and i switched them and they went down
