Test pipe Horror stories anyone?
I hear running a test pipe or no cat can make your valves rattle and twist because there is no back pressure so when you let off the gas the pressure is suppose to stop at the cat but instead it goes back into the motor?...
Can anyone confirm this?

You heard wrong. Running a test pipe doesnt bend/twist/crack valves, Running open header on the other hand can. Test pipe might loose you power. Also you wont pass smog.

well i dont belive that because when my cat went bad i put a test pipe on my car till the cat got in and i ended up running the test pipe for about 2 months because i was to lazy to change it and i never had any problems, my freind also ran one for 6 months and had no problems, but i will say that they are useless, i could feel it rev faster in higher RPM's but since most people shouldnt need to race on the street its dumb, maybe for the track its good. Alsoi ran open header before i made the test pipe and i had no problems with that either

You heard wrong a test pipe is better for turbo and sc setups because they need the free flow, i guess if you were running an insane all motor car like a v8 then they could be benificall and better but not really on a honda...
in conclusion i also wouldnt put one on your car since u are in cali and the fine i belive is 3000$ if a cop looks uder your car and doesnt see a cat...

I have a horror story from running a test pipe. I put it on, and I sounded like every ricer on the street. Then I had to drive like that for a week while waiting on my cat. It was horrible.
