Temp guage isn't reaching a warm temp? Why?

Default Temp guage isn't reaching a warm temp? Why?
ok i drove for like 30 mins straight all around town to get the motor warm and get the cooling fans going, now throughout the entire time the temp guage was leaning towards more on the cold side, not even close to moving up. It has been doing this for quite a while but nothing as low as it has now. Also could this problem be related to why i have a hella low idle from 500-300rpm.

I got the same exact problem, but I already changed my thermostat, didn't work.

Bump for the same crap...

Could be thermostat open, or a bad temp. sending unit.
