Temp gauge quit working after replacing head gasket (yes the wires are connected)
Hey guys, I just bought a 95 civic DX from the original owner the other day for $750, very clean with A/C but it just needed a head gasket. I replaced the head gasket and when everything was said and done i started the car and let it warm up and the Temp gauge did not move at all, where it did before I replaced the head gasket. triple checked all of the connections and everything is connected. Also the electric fan tends to come on for about 30 seconds and then shuts off. seems like the fan should stay on longer than that. anybody had this happen before?

Check the connection again. Happened to me when I did a tranny install. Accidentally pulled the plug and didn't reconnect it. It's under the distributor. The fan is supposed to only come on when the temp reaches a certain level and then shut off when it cools down enough which may only be a few seconds.
