put a magnaflow 18 inch resonator on my hatch, who knew that a itr with 2.5 inch exhaust, the resonator and a vibrant flat back muffler would be silent! its great, has some tone to it but no real noise what so ever

Changed oil + PCV valve for the first time since I got it all back together.
Solid idle at 900-1000 RPM now, my old valve wasn't stuck per-say, but was in pretty poor shape.

Gotta to find a way to keep my O2 sensor from rattling out morse code >>

On topic, I ordered the upper timing cover my DX. Now the only think I am missing is the heat shield to comlete the motor.

I thought EG and EK meaning 92-00 hatches ONLY. EJ meaning coupe.

No. There is no such thing as a EK or EG in the US. Unless it was imported.

I never knew that. So what does a 96-00 Hatch vin read? There is no EK in there at all?

EJ6. Nope, the US never got a EK at all..

Correct, EG is a just a quick way to refer to the 92-95 stlye, and the same goes for EK with 96-00's.

I typically say 5th gen or 6th gen. Same amount of syllables as EG and EK.

I didn't do anything to mine except check oil and coolant again.

Otherwise, helped a friend with his step daughters EJ6, that engine is hosed... it leaks oil like a seive and the oil bleeds into the coolant system.
Hes doing a compression test and a leak down test today to determine if just HG or worse.

I'm very tempted to tell him it's not worth it without doing a full rebuild, I have a suspicion it's run without oil for a month or two now, spun bearings are on the horizon.

State Inspection. New radiator / main top and bottom hoses, 8 year old replacement radiator finally bit the dust (top leak)
New Muffler,new dizzy o ring.

Lost my mugen lip on friday and found it today over some railroad tracks. I got out the car and threw it in. Someone ran over it because it was almost cracked in half so I super glued it, sanded it, and painted it. She's back on now

I love when people talk about their "EK" and I just say something along the lines of "Oh my gosh you have an EK no way how'd you get it?!" and basically freak out and they're like "uhhh all my bro's have hella EKs bro JDM they're everywhere!" and just give them a hard time. Gotta enjoy the little things in life.
