Tein SS on a 93 Del Sol
Im planning on getting the Tein SS coilovers for my sol, I just have a few questions about this setup.
Do you think this is a good setup? Is there a better setup you would recomend for the same price?
I have read a few topics on the Tein Durability... ie rusting?!? is this a problem or can it easily be prevented?
How low can the system drop and still be benificial? How Low total?
And where is the cheapest it can be found?
I also plan on a Skunk2 Camber kit for the front, and still undecided on the rear.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I just ordered a set today for $875 shipped for my 92 VX. I can't give you any comments on their fuctionality or durability since I haven't used them. I was deciding on many different setups, but due to the price and known quality I didn't want to pass it up.

Re: Tein SS on a 93 Del Sol (VTECVillain)
It`s whoring when they sell something too cheap and screw up the market. Online vendors typically do this since they have no overhead. Any type of profit is fine, even 5%, which is totally ridiculous. Somebody that actually has a store front and provides support for their customers can`t compete with this and it`s putting a lot of good shops out of business. I`m not sure about the shop you speak of, but I`ve never heard of them. Figure $25 for shipping, and I know what they are paying for the Teins, so IMO it`s whoring. I`m not saying don`t buy from them, it`s a good deal. I just don`t agree with their pricing and quite a few shops I frequent agree. I just hope you can get ahold of them if/when you have any problems with your Teins.

Sounds like you know about the business side of things, which I personally don't. I never thought that the price was jaw dropping or anything. Most places I've seen have the SS model from 900-950. I actually saw the same price that Turbo Evolution has in the Best Buy forum a while back. I think it was Mossimo Performance or something like that.

I just checked the Best Buy forum on here and found Lost Projects Performance sell them for $900 shipped and Massimo Performance has them for $875 shipped. I'm not trying to start an argument over the whole Tein pricing, but if these prices are whoring then wouldn't someone on this board not allow these vendors to offer such good deals?

Btw, Massimo and Turbo Evolution are not authorised dealers so if you get bunk product you are fucked

Back on the subject about the teins for your sol. I would not buy that model because the spring rates are too weak. I would buy for an integra or ITR (if you go Itr, you need ITR rear lca's) What i am doing is looking for tein HA's (new strait from japan ) for the Integra type R then I will buy a set of Rear LCA's from this guy I know for $75. Overall, it looks like I can get away with it for exactly 1000 (+shipping)

Re: Tein SS on a 93 Del Sol (asmallsol)
if i was you i would look further into the other options as far as camber kits go. If your gonna do it right with a set a tein$ then i would look for a stronger camber kit. skunk2 has some breaking problems which i have heard of. I just purchased custom spring rate GC's with agx's and purchased ingall's in the front. The control arms were very easy to install and upgraded bushings were a little plus as well. Seemed very quality to me. just make sure to get some with ball joints in them already. They're a bitch to get out unless you have a press. good luck dude. Stick with the teins if you got the do.
