Re: symptoms of a bad axle? (IM ALL BOB)
A bad inner joint can cause a wobbling under acceleration, but I'm not real sure about the noise you describe.
It's really hard to e-diagnose a car from a noise standpoint, but if all fails then just replace the axle again.
You do have a lifetime warranty on the axle, right?
Oh yeah, the "Secondary notch" is probably where that nut has been restaked because it was probably used again after an axle was replaced once before. It *shouldn't* be anything to be alarmed about.
