Default swaybar setup for eg hatch(dx)

ok so i'm thinking about sway bars.

I dont want insane ammounts of oversteer.. but dont want understeer either,
maybe just a bit of oversteer.
also I want to save money.

so i'm thinking about a 93si oem front bar.

now what would be a good bar to go with for the rear?
would would be a good size that you would recommend?(the front is 21mm)

I'm thinking I should get another oem bar. so I can get it for cheap,
someone suggested an ITR bar, but I have a feeling that'd be too hard to come by.

what a bout a 2000si rear bar? whats the mm on those??

thanks a bunch

I would use the ST 19mm rear sway bar, it provies a much more neutral setup than either the GSR bar (14mm) or the Civic Si bar (13mm). As for the front, a 21mm or 22mm bar would be sufficient.

ST bar is okay but u will need some kind of sub frame re-inforcement like beaks...also ST have exhaust fitment issues and if u use oem bars they have less problems with exhaust if u wanted to upgrade later....our hatch feel good with just the oem front bar on there and no sway bars in back...if u would want to do alot of track driving i say type r...but everyday use a gsr is fine and cheap...LCA and sway bars with end links go for 100 bucks...

No, the ST bar includes thick steel brackets to mount the bar on so added reinforcement is not necessary. As for the exhaust issue, haha, I have a custom 3" exhaust and with the ST bar I have a ton of clearance. Here is a pic showing what I am talking about.

looks very good but i have several friends with ST bars that they couldnt use because of exhaust clearence issues...ur is custom so that maybe effect it alot...was the exhaust put on b4 or after the ST bar...but like i mentioned by gsr sway bars can be had for much cheaper then a ST...ST would be nice tho....heard very good things about them handling wise...

ah, thanks for all the responses.

OK so st or gsr seems like my decision.
turbosedan, what mm front bar do you have? hows the car repsond to the bars, alot of oversteer.. not much?

also, if I get upgraded exhaust, i'll definetely go custom, so I'm not too worried about fitment(they'll just route the exhaust to fit right.. or thats what i'm hoping, hehe).

also, about the chassis reinforcement, I thought you only ran into problems with stock springs/shocks, or soft ones. I have really stiff springs and shocks. Also would a tie bar help with that?

hmm, ok.
well i'm also worried about shelling out money for more parts needed to get the bar working. for example.. I have no intention of buying ITR lower control arms,
whats the beaks kit???

AACK new information! WAHHH

I have a 22mm stock front bar and the overall handling is very mild understeer. It is close to neutral, and I use Yoko AVS-I tires. I did have my custom exhaust done after the bar was on, and of course I did that on purpose so the fitment would not be an issue. Smart thinking if I do say so myself! LOL

Hey, if you want a simple upgrade go with the ST bar dude. It includes everything you need and it is just $120. I got mine at NOPI. Check it out.

I don't believe SI's need integra LCA's to run the rear sway bar.
