Swapped d15b wont start-HELP!
Just swapped out my motor with a d15b. Wired it all up correctly I assume because I went through it 3 times. I drop it all in, wire it all down, throw in all the needed fluids, and go on to start it up but it wont start. I had a friend watch the engine while I tried to start it and he claims to have seen my starter throw a little spark. I wait a few minutes and go on to start it again and still wont start up on me. I replace the starter assuming it was not working. After replacing it, I go on to start it up again. I hear the starter click and all my lights dim out on me but still wont start. From here on I have to clue to what it is. I replaced the alternator also and no luck. Any ideas?

Re: Swapped d15b wont start-HELP! (flyazzcivic)
Did a few search on here already and no help.
Fuel is fine
All lights work but dim when key is turned
Starter clicks
Checked for codes and threw a solid CEL
ECU works because I tried 3 ECUs from other working civics
Everything else is dead...I need this **** running soon! so help!
I put it in an EG

Just checked the grounds. They are all secure and I am sure I got all grounds hooked up.

Hey wass up buddy u said you changed out the starter and you got to click and the lights went dim. Start simple check the battry if the car has been sitting for a while its real likely its just the battery. Then go from there

Cant be the Dizzy. Tried 3 dizzies and all works fine on my brothers civic. Swap them in mine and they dont spark at all. Swap back to his and works fine. Car turns over, but no SPARK! Its not the dizzy, wires all hooked up right to my knowledge since its simple plug and play. Fuses are all good, fuel is going through. Someone has to know!
ECU is still throwing Code Zero! What do I do with that?

Seems like it wouldnt be the main Relay since the fuel does seem to be pumping. I did pull it out though, opened it up and all the solder point are still fairly good.
What I dont understand is why I am getting a solid CEL. If I pull out one of the sensors it will go out of the solid CEL and pull the code for the unplugged sensor. This means my ECU must be working.
I am getting no spark at ALL! Unplugged the harness and re-plugged them and no luck! Could it be because I am using the VX harness on the d15b? Should I try out an EX/SI plug?

Re: (jerbear!)
check all your grounds, there are 3 main grounds in your motor bay: trannsmission, valve cover, and battery and change the battery while your at it. check your spark plugs, there is a certain order that it needs to be in so its important. check your fuel injectors, maybe they burnt out. your harness could be an issue, maybe the wires got fried so try using another one. check your map sensor, on top of your intake manifold on top of the throttle body, make sure its the right plug, some plugs fit and look the same. the map sensors important. make sure all your plugs are in the right spot, especially the starter. also try causing a spark on the starter with like a regular speaker wire, maybe it will start. was that motor running when u bought it/last had it?
and YES, try a rolling start. try it from 1st gear first then try 2nd gear.

Re: (ek-to-tha-max)
got it working. Took off all grounds and wire harness off and re-attached them for the 4th time. Seems like they were loose the last 3 times I tried. Or else it just happen to want to start up the 4th time. Thanks!

it had a vx 1.5 motor and I drove it til it died on me so I turned the car into my project car, swapped in a z6 motor and turboed the thing and the motor was acting up on me so I took the z6 motor out to get it fully built because I am aiming at trying to get high 11 to low 12 second passes. Thats why I dropped in a d15b motor. In comparison, the d15b and z6 isnt too much of a difference anyways, just that the z6 is way easier to get a hold of parts to have it built.
