ok so me and a friend put a d16y7 into a 94 civic hatch dx and it wasnt getting spark so we put a new dizzy on it and that showed it had spark with the test light to the wires, but when your crank it it shows power going to the ground when you put the test light on it, and when you turn on the head lights the dash lights dont come on anymore, what could cause that? maybe ecu? thats the only thing that i could think of i need help asap

Is spark bright white at all four spark plugs? Does the fuel pump prime?

What test is this? Is the battery dead?

battery is good, and i wasnt the one who actually saw the spark my buddy was i was cycling the key but i hear the pump kick on but idk what else the prob could be

You need to find out what color the spark was.

This^ and also make sure the plug wire firing order is correct on the distributor cap.
