swap shifting trouble
i got my b16a installed and ready... runs good... but when i drive it at higher speeds than like 30... the bitch wont get into gear... and sometimes it grinds... then after i was done driving it... something smelled like it was burning... im guessing it might be my clutch or something...
but someone also told me that the bolt that holds the shiftlinkage to the tranny... can't be tight and im pretty sure i made it really tight...
donno

Re: swap shifting trouble (EGwhat!!!)
yep... just put some in today... like 2.5 quarts... the only thing is that it doesnt come out of the side of the tranny fast... it comes out really really slow.... donnooo
another thing is that i bleed the clutch but i dont think it was done right... do u think that might be causing the problem... it feels fine to me

what do you mean by "get into gear"
does it feel blocked, or does it feel like the throw is super long?
i'm sure the burning is probably you hanging on the clutch too long while trying to get it into gear?
if its the throws i'm gonna say you kept your eg shifter? I had to bend mine when i first got it.
Is it harder to get into 1/3/5th or are all gears equally difficult?

yea the gears feel blocked... and then when i force it in sometimes it grinds...
could it be that i bleed the clutch wrong and there is still air in the system... would that be the cause?

Re: (meagainsttheworld)
You probably need to bleed your lines again. The clutch is not disengaging making it hard to shift and also the reason why it grinds.

so yeah i just realized that the it shifts only at low rpms... specifically around 2,000 RPM so im guessing the clutch is not disengaging at the right height... would adjusting the clutch height fix this? or do i need a whole new clutch and if so where can i get a good one for a b16a?
oh yeah also... this clutch feels as though the friction point is way earlier then my old one on my d15 motor

This is a hydro tranny right?
If it is, just bleed the slave cylinder like you would your brakes.
Attach a clear hose to nipple.
Unscrew the nipple.
Pump the clutch and keep topping off the reservoir until there are no bubbles in the hose.
Tighten the nipple and you're done.
