Swap question????????????/
I am in the process of doing my swap and the shop that is doing it for me wans to know if i should replace the water pump and timing belt now. He didnt even look at it yet and says that its theres a really good chance that the water pump is rotted. I told him that the motor averages 35,000 miles and it should still be fresh. He wants to charge me $350 total including labor for a new timing belt and water pump. Do you think its worth it to have this done now even though there is a chance that there could be nothing wrong with either one? And he says i should replace the clutch.

Yeah, i changed my water pump and timing belts when i got my swap and my motor had low milage on it. As for clutch, go ahead and get yourself a nice exedy organic.

Re: (AllstockSIke)
like the guys said, replace the water pump and timing belt no matter what. Those parts are fairly cheap and it would be a shame to screw up a nice new motor because a $40 part broke on you. Also, I would grab a new clutch, just because if I did a swap I would want it done the best it could be, but you may be able to get by on the stock clutch for a while id the motor does infact have the milage they claim it does.
