Chaseme

I have a '99 Civic EX 4-door. I bought it used with 81k. Anyway, it makes sort of a clunking noise when hitting sharp bumps or on gravel. Sounds like something is loose, but I can't figure out what. I've inspected both wheel assemblies, without taking anything apart, and I don't know. It's definitely just the front and probably both sides. Any ideas?
