Surging Idle after swapping ECU's
I searched but didn't find anything dealing with my exact problem.....
I recently swapped out my VAFC and stock obd2 ecu in my 98 coupe for a chipped p28 running an uberdata basemap (from someone with a similar setup). Its a boosted d series, and if it helps I'll list my setup exactly. At first I left the VAFC hooked up, but zeroed out all the fuel settings. Then I took the VAFC out. The problem is that the idle surges from 1500-2000rpm when its warm or cold. It also takes a bit longer to crank when I start it. otherwise it runs/drives fine. All I did was swap the ecu's. It was idling smooth running the vafc hack. Any ideas??

Re: Surging Idle after swapping ECU's (G3NR8)
You had no problems with the stock ECU + VAFC.
You then install a chipped P28 + uberdata map and experience problems.
If you put the stock ECU and VAFC back, does the problem go away? If yes, then you can be reasonably sure that the chipped P28 + uberdata map is whats causing the problem.
Have you tried tuning the idle portion of the map?
