my car is surging whenever its idle, and i'm not sure exactly what is the problem, i thought it might be the main relay bc i know i need to have it replaced.

No vtec != no iacv

It could be any number of things. There are literally hundreds of posts just like this. Most of them get no replies because the author didn't provide any information. If you don't know enough to at least start troubleshooting it yourself, you'd be better off taking it to a professional.

The list of things that could cause a bad idle is too long to try to type out.

- FICV
- IACV
- any number of sensors, plugs, plug wires, ECU problem, O2 sensor etc

Does the idle surge when it's cold or when the car is warmed up or both? How badly does it surge? Have you done anything recently to the car?

Yeah you should double check all your vacuum lines...check the IACV and the FITV.

Go through them all....You never know what might be the problem unless you get into it.
