Subwoofer Question
Hi,
I was thinking about an idea about installing the subwoofer under the trunk where the spare tire supposed to be? Is that possible?
Has anyone done that? What should i be aware of if i want to design the box myself.

Re: Subwoofer Question
Many have done this. Its very common.
The only real issue is that you'll lose the spare (or at least, the normal space for it).
Head into the Audio / Security / Video forum and read up.

Re: Subwoofer Question
I seen that done for the larger subs 15"+. Was interested in building a custom box for my trunk as-well so my subs are facing the corners of my trunk and I have space to either install a bigger sub in the middle or have space in my trunk period.

Re: Subwoofer Question
i did it, have pics in my garage on here, still not finished yet, have to do some fiberglass work to cover the wires, but u get the idea of it, only bad side to it is that u have no spare, and no trunk, remember to keep a can of prestone tire jack on hand, box was made of 3/4 mdf

Re: Subwoofer Question
I ended up putting a Kicker 10" L5 in a truck box in the trunk of my sol. Its above the spare, and I still have plenty of room, the top even fits with room to spare. Its small, hits HARD, speaker is 450RMS I believe, I'm using 350W and its hitting harder than my 12" CVR did in my previous car with the same amp! Plus you get to keep your spare.
TS10L52 is the model. This is a really great place I buy all my stuff from, cheap, and free fast shipping.

Re: Subwoofer Question
yeah it would suck not having a spare, why dont you try to make a box on one side of the trunk or just use a reg. box it dosent take up that much space
