stripped bolt please help

Default stripped bolt please help

I stripped the nut inside the rear quarter where you bolt the rear upper control arm, used a impact on it and now the bolt and nut behind the panel is just spinning can anyone help????

You should always hand tighten the bolts first so it wont strip like that....try rethreading the nut.... go to ur harware shop and find out what size the bolt is and find the sames rethreading tool(i forgot what it was called) and try that....

Have a freind hold the bolt from the inside with some vice grips and then you can break it free - then I suggest new hardware - from Honda...

damn why did you need an impact wrench for those bolts? Ive never had a problem with those that a breaker bar couldnt fix. I see too often where someone busts out with an impact wrench and breaks bolts and everything. I would keep the impact wrench on the bottom of my last resort list.

how can I get to the inside I took off all the interior panels and still can't find the nut???????? I took it to the dealer and they quoted $1100-$1300 just to replace it all

Cut off the end. shove it down the hole.. then get a re=thread kit and tap the hole .. I did this a few weeks ago where the bolt stripped. but I stopped and re-threaded..

But as you said.. the other end of the nut is inside a body section you cannot access.. so you might get a loose bolt knock here and there.. DONt pay the $1K for that repair
