Strange WINE in first gear(louder than normal), and trouble shifting???
Hey i have a 96 civic ex with a 98 B18C1. Just recently, like today, first gear has a louder wine than ive heard it ever do, and going from 5th to fours is very hard, doesnt want to get into any of the gears. But when i get it into gear, i put the clutch in and take it out of gear, then when i take my foot off the clutch i hear a click of some kinda that kind of sounds different than usual. I checked my clutch fluid and it seemed ok, and have no other idea except that one. what else could it be?? would the input shaft bearing being bad make it hard to get the car into gears?? what should i do when i haver my tranny off to put my clutch in?? should i just bring my whole tranny to a tranny shop?? they wont charge for labor on taking it out of my car, they just have to tear it down.

is that an easy fix?? it just so happens that i am about to install a new clutch and flywheel. I got an ACT clutch kit that came with some bearings. are either of those the culprit. i have noticed lately that i need a new clutch, could that just be the problem??

well , see, that click sound only happens once, right when the clutch gets released after i have taken it out of gear. understand?? but how could this have happened? i havent driven it in like 3 days. Would you guys recommend having a shop fix this??would the input shaft bearing make it hard to get into gears???what should i do when i haver my tranny off to put my clutch in?? should i just bring my whole tranny to a tranny shop?? they wont charge for labor on taking it out of my car, they just have to tear it down

Can these easily be changed by me? how hard is it ripping apart the tranny and changing the bearings? I will have the tranny off next week for a new clutch and flywheel that is going in.

Sounds like your freaking out a little too much and it's making everything hard to understand from you. You could just bleed your clutch fluid. But I'm sure its probably your Input Shaft Bearing. I'm sure if you search on this part or search DIY tranny build, something in that area and PM the guys that have worked on this particular part and you should get many of your questions, answered.

just kind of check the other large bearings in there, i replaced a couple...
also when i took it to the dealership, they said if it wasnt in stock theyd simply visit a nearby bearing place and order it there, and charge full price, so we went there, he ordered the bearings, and one was a special order bearing, something about numbers on the back you usually dont use, but we finally got it and it worked great

not sure if you can do this... atleast in socal.. >>>no honda dealership rebuids trannys let alone opens them up.. << its too much work for them. takes too long for a turn around. they just have you pay for a rebuilt one. with your trade in...
just open it up and see what you have...
