ok
so i disconnect the ECT themostat switch, and put a paper clip to "jump" the connection...
fan will not turn on!!
i checked all fuses in engine bay and inside the car (lower dash) and all fuses are intact!
car is a 00 civic ex y8 motor
FYI the harness im jumping is located on the thermostat housing...

Jump the CTS at the upper water neck with a paperclip or length of wire and the fan should turn on (with the car running...duh). It's like pulling codes from the harness at the passenger corner of your EG: it simply shortcuts the signal having to go through that particular "checkpoint" if you will .

Is your HVAC fan working? I blew the fuse for that and my car did the same thing. The radiator fan would not come on. It did after the fuse was replcaed. IIRC, it's a 15 amp fuse located in the driver side footwell fusebox.
