str 68mm TB...question
ok guys i have this throttle body on my skunk 2 manifold. im trying to figure out what something does on this thing. i been fighting idle problems for a while.
i did not take this picture, but in the top right (next to the IACV hole) you will see 2 small holes, there is an allen head screw with a o ring on it there.
what does that thing do? i have screwed around with it all day and nothing has changed.
i even took it completely out, and the idle didnt change, but i could hear it sucking air.

also, its not the TB stop screw
its weird that is has passages going from the IACV hole, if you look closely you can see em.

That allen key screw you keep messing with is the idle control screw. If your not noticing a difference then you might have a vac. leak.

i have checked everywehre i can think of for a vacuum leak. im just not finding it.
the idle doesnt really surge, but the car dies when i stop (alot) but not all the time. When the fan kicks on it starts idling really low and surging a bit (500- 800 surge)
i ahve a new IACV but havent had a chance to put it on yet.
the throttle stop screw is actually that little allen screw on the left (under the throtlle plate bracket)
also, if i cover the IAC hole in the throttle body with my finger, the car dies instantly

Allen key? Sure it's not a flat head? Mine is.
Doesn't matter, that ****** screw is useless as **** - adjust idle using the throttle cable, you'll appreciate it more because it'll actually ******* work.

this is not your factory throttle body. no flat head screw.
there is an allen head on the back near the tps sensor (the one in question) i can see it being an idle adjustment, but when i took it out completely my cars idle shoulda went sky high and surged like a ****.
and i can adjust the throttle plate buy using the one on the far left with the silver lock nut on it. That way i dont have to touch the throttle cable.
adjusting idle by throttle cable tension is not the right way to do it.

ok, just recently i replaced the IACV, no change in the idle problem.
also, the car isnt dieing anymore, but idles really low sometimes. other times its right on the money.
it also kinda stutters at idle everyone once in a while.
think this could be timing? or do i just have the smallest vacuum leak in the world and never gonna find it?

well...i just tightened the throttle cable up to hold the plate a little more open.
it helped a bit the car wouldnt die or anything, but the idle was still weird then my damn cable broke and left me stranded at 4am.
i know thats not the right way to do it.
after replacing the cable it started dieing on me again.
any suggestions guys? im thinking its something besides vacuum/intake area
