Re: Stolen engine/trans - Rebuild or Junk?
My 99 got broken into few months ago and all they stole was the radio and I had also left my gps in there which they took as well and my insurance estimated it at $2500 body damage but I did have insurance... natually I can get it fixed cheaper than that and have already bought used a trunk lid and a passenger side door and I have already put the trunk lid on but still needs a little tweaking to get it perfect but still need to get the door switched out and get them re-keyed for the car. They didn't take my door speakers and since it's been sitting I just got done installing new 6x9's in the rear so just need to get another radio in there so I can have some tunes again.
It's your car so up to you but I'd fix it and go again just try to at least get some security. I thought I was safe but went to visit a friend away from home and all it took was one time. I just don't get why people can't leave honda's alone it's like you always have to worry about it either getting stolen or broken into.

Re: Stolen engine/trans - Rebuild or Junk?
The B16a2 I found for cheap turned out to be a stolen motor so I ended up going with a D16Y8 longblock last weekend and it's ready to be dropped in. But of course, I need to replace all the lines that were cut out before installing the engine and my laundry list items grows each time I take a look in the engine bay.
