stock gsr hp on the dyno?i dynoed at 120hp? whats wrong?
well ive been having major problems with my car running insanely rich etc...
and we tried everything and ive been going to a hella good shop and theyve helped me with everything and the only way we though to get the gas problem to go away was to dyno tune it on khrome pro. And the gas was mixing with my oil and after a few hundred miles my oil was pitch black after a brand new oil change.
so thats what i did and i dynoed at only about 118 hp.
its supposedly a stock gsr but i bought the swap how it was and supposedly there might be new bearings but we dont know because i dont have the money for someone to open up my motor to look through the internals.
i got it tuned by a very good tuner that tuned it for hours and we couldnt get anymore power out of it because the a/f ratios were perfect, etc so we just leaned it out a lot and now it runs perfect...just very underpowered.
they told me that they think its probably who ever built my motor messed up on the piston rings or theyre gapped too much which caused to much gas to come in and run hella rich and lose compression. im VERY happy with getting it tuned because now i dont get 10 mpg running so rich which was my main problem, but i just want to hear your opinions on why you think im only dynoing at 119 hp at 106 tq.????
is the most likely answer the compression and im probably gonna need a ring job, etc?
thanks for any input!

WOW...id say you have an issue. Ive seen bolted up,p28 tuned z6's do the same. Ive also seen hondata tuned, bolted up GSR's do 170-180.

One reason that you are probably seeing lower numbers that you should is because dynos measure wheel horsepower which is inherently less than hp at the crank. I am surprised that the tuner did not do any better but if it runs good than that is all that matters. If you think that a ring is bad you do not have to take to motor apart to find out. Just buy a compression tester at autozone and check each cylinder to see if it falls in the specs listed for the b18c.

Its dyno'ing at less than a stock B16.
You're engine seems to be seriously hurt or internally leaking.
understand that it is URGENT that you perform a compression test, and a leakdown test, both done adequately, and then post your results here. Those 2 test I believe have a %99 chance of completely diagnosing your problem.
Good luck!
