i just bought a 96 civic DX. i installed a cheap high flow intake system from ebay. the problem is, that the car bogged down every time i floored it. the engine reved pretty high, but the car just does not run. i compared it to my friend's 96 DX who has a cat back system, same mileage and everything, his car felt a lot faster. what do you guys think is wrong? i'll try the plugs and wires on friday, see how it turned out. the thing is the power difference is too great, for example, he would pass me easily on the freeway, going from 50 to 90mph. please let me know what you think. thanks

maybe your filter is ****? but really i don't know, never heard of this problem after installing a CAI

Reset your ECU yet? If not just unplug the battery for about 5 minutes. Also are your cars both manual?

yes, both cars are stick, and my filter is APC filter. i had this problem before i installed the CAI.

Maybe your throttle cable is not fulling pulling the betterfly down all the way?
