stiff shifter roblem
well i used have a DX tranny on my Z6. this sunday we put in a EX tranny, now my shifter feels really stiff when im trying to move it to the left to go into 1st or 2nd i really have to push it, going into 5th or R is alot easier. i did some searching and found out that the shifter bolt might be too tight so i loosend it up a little, but still feels the same any help is greatly appreciated

Re: stiff shifter roblem (LaloQuera)
The ONLY reasons you would have a stiff shifter (Pushing left or right and not front to back) would be..
-Shifter interference with center console or other foreign object in car..
-Shifter interference with exhaust or other foreign object under car..
-Shift linkages twisted when installed..
-Shifter pivot ball assy assembeled incorrectly..
-Internal transmission selector damage..
The ONLY other thing it could be, which SHOULD BE BLAINTENTLY OBVIOUS, is excessive slop in shifter mechanism which causes you to bind against the shifter support assembly..
I've never seen it done before and I'm not even sure IF it can b done.. But I'd imagine installing your shifter linkage upside down would have a similar effect..
