sticky sunroof, any ideas on how to fix it.
Ok, since yesterday I have been having problems with my roof opeing in my 94 civic Si. When I press the center button for it to pop up, it doesn't reallly want to and I have to press it a few times to get it to open all the way. Why is it doing that? DO you think it just needs some oil? If so where should I oil it and where shouldn't I oil it?

sil-glyde, but get the tube, not the spray. use it around the seals of your sunroof and the part thats mounted on your car.

mine does the same thing, but it's only sticky when it's cold. when it's not cold it works fine. is yours sticky no matter what the temperature is?

silicone doesn't work for the sunroof... neither does wd40 (well they both do but only in the short term)
Use white lithium (works but not recomended by honda) or just good old fashion yellow all purpose grease.
For the windows you need silicone because it doesn't leave residue and it lubes the plastic seals so the window doesn't stick.
For the sunroof it needs a grease that will stick around and not evaporate off quickly... also you need a higher volume of grease then a spray type can provide. (well there are spray versions of yellow all-purpose grease but they're too messy imo)

I use the white all purpose grease myself on the sunroof and on the windows. Doesn't try out too fast. WD40 or motor oil (heard that one as well) work for the short term, probably only until you actually get the white stuff.
