Staying Obd1 With Type R SWAP
hey hows it goin everybody, i was planning on swapping a type r into my del sol. well i already have the swap anyway. i just got it refereed here in cali so i have the bar label so the 1.8 is legal all day. i dont want to convert my car to obd2, its too much work, or wiring. so i was told that if i used an obd1 wiring harness (which i happened to find a b16a3 del sol vtec wiring harness, which would fit perfectly) then an obd1 distributor, that i could keep it obd1? does anybody else have any information, or any tips of what i will need to do exactly to keep this type r obd1 in my car. i already have a chipped skunk2 ecu thats obd1 also. anything else that i might need? pls help, thx a lot.

just keep the motor how it is and get a obd2 ger or ls harness. plug the harness on and it should all be plug and play. then just plug the ecu you have already in and you are good to go
