i keep trying to use the search feature as i know this question gets asked

i have a 95 del sol v-tec /obd1 and i just picked up a obd2 complete gsr swap and im little confused as im hearing so many things

what do i need to put this engine in ( wiring wise ) i know i got to get a obd2 to obd1 ecu adapater.

but im hearing i need a obd1 gsr engine harness alt and distro and ecu and it will be the best but thats $200

then im hearing i can just use the obd2 engine harness and just need the ecu adpater

so im lost and confused any help would be appreacited.

obd1 Del sol chassis would require A pairing of obd1 engine components or obd2 engine compoents.

The harnesses from obd1 and obd2 integras are completely compatible with your car. plug and play, with the harness (whethere obd1 or obd2) you should have mating injectors, distributor, and alternator to make it plug and play.

you will want to run an obd1 ecu as it is directly compatible with your ecu, or you can run a p28 and tie IAB into vtec.

mounts will come from the integra. Shift linkage willl need to come from a b16 equipped Del Sol Vtec as eg/dc chassis have different length shifters.

so my obd2 engine harness will plug right into the obd1 car harness that i have ?
this way i dont have to buy alt distro .

and ill pick up a obd1 ecu
and thanks for the shift linkage that i didint know

im so surprised its hard to find a how to .

Heh, just gotta know who to ask.
Some of these methods are practically trade-marked secrets, otherwise EVERYONE would be able to do it, the parts would disappear faster, and the original guy wouldn't be better than/unique from everyone else anymore.

Or maybe I'm thinking too deeply on this ^^;

Here's what you're looking at:

Distributor - Your Del Sol harness will not plug into the OBD2 B18C. You can either find an OBD1 Bseries VTEC distributor for plug and play or rig your Del Sol one to work (not recommended) or use an OBD1-2 distributor adapter or find an OBD2 GSR engine harness and everything will plug and play.

Alternator - Your Del Sol harness again will not plug in. You will need to find an OBD1 B series alternator or use an OBD1-2 alternator adapter or find an OBD2 GSR engine harness for plug and play.

Injectors - You Del Sol harness again will not plug in. You will need to reuse your Del Sol injectors. They are the same flow rate (240cc) as the GSR injectors.

VTEC - plug and play

Knock - Will need to use a honda 2 pin connector and make a harness to go to the ECU.

IAB - Will need to use a Honda 2 pin connector and make a harness to go to the ECU.

If you end up using an OBD2 harness you will still need to wire knock and IAB wiring to the ECU.

This is Highly misleading as it is not the ONLY way, if you have a somplete engine it will plug and play, no mods, and will run off a p28 thats stock. It may not run as best it could, but will maintain as well untill you get a chipped ecu.

the easiest way is described above in my first post.

Ditch the del Sol harness.

Use a p28 chipped for acurate Gsr map as it has a much weaker map and you do not want IAb programmed. Tie it into your vtec and ride. No nock.

I wasn't trying to mislead I was giving instructions for using a P72 ECU. Yes you can do the above with an OBD2 Integra GSR engine harness and a P28 with GSR maps. Although the OP may be in California in which the P28 is out of the question.

he doesnt have to wire for knock if he has a Del Sol Vtec. that just extra work. the only way i saw was to wire IAB into the Vtec, otherwise, he weill have an Extra 3 pin plug that is not on the civic harnesses. he will only have to wire for IAB.

okay heres a question

i have a dseries vtec harness here that has the injectors cut off well i wanted to see if it would plug into the alternator . did not a problem so i tried the distro and it plugged into both plugs

the gsr came out of a 99 civic so the ENTIRE harness is there going to the ecu .

is it possible i have a obd1 if the obd1 is plugging into those plugs ?

im even more confused now

That is an OBD2 Civic harness, and is NOT compatible with any integra Harness 96-01. Manual harnesses make it easiier, gsr harness will have everything you need and plug and play.

A 92-95 integra/civic harness will work as well, but you will need an OBD1 distributor/injector/alternator, or cut/solder the wires to their appropriate places.

And, that is more than likely a b16 99-2000 harness, which are not easily came by. dont sell it for cheap.
