Starting hard
I have a 99 ek with a 00 B18b1 in it. the issue i'm having is that it starts hard. it will crank for like 5-7 sec before it actually cranks over. once its is running for a couple minutes it starts up right away, if i were to shut it off, and turn it back on. its not really a problem just more of an annoyance but i'd like it it to start like it did before i did the swap. anyone know what to check or what the issue might be or have this happen to them?

Re: Starting hard
I have had the same issue with my y8 for years, esp when cold like 40 degrees and below, I know it is a different engine but maybe common with honda's?
Fresh battery, plugs, wires etc, still does it.
I know with 99-00 ex's has a cold start valve I wonder if they added it because of the hard cold starts.

Re: Starting hard
Yeah battery is brand new. It acts like my old engine when my gas tank was on empty. If i Start it and then go to drive with out it being warmed up it starts off slow/sputters until about 1500RPM as if its not getting enough fuel or something but if i let it warm up for like 2-3 min before driving it, doesn't act funny at all. there is no gas leak or vacuum leaks i can find.

Re: Starting hard
Once you turn the key wait until you hear the fuel pump stop running and then try cranking it over, not a permanent fix but may help get rid of the annoyance untill you find the problem
