Starter/battery/alternator gone bad?? car wont turn over...
Well.. in the past couple weeks, my 93 civic dx has been straining to turn over (usually when its extremely cold out--its not too bad if its fairly warm) and it also makes a constant noise for like 5 min while its warming it up. I dont know how to describe the sound except that it sounds kind of like a remote controlled toy car. This morning, i went outside and tried to start it and it was even worse with the turning over, and wouldnt start. After school, i tried again, and now it wont even turn over. I can hear clicks, which i'm guessing is the main relay and ECU...
Ive been searching and readin around, sounds like its the starter or my battery. I hooked a charger up and the battery is fully charged. Maybe the cables are bad? Also, my speedometer doesnt work anymore--actually i should say it works, but it is very random. The pin will jump to random speeds (sometimes when im not even moving) and come right back down, and once in a while the speedometer will work perfectly. Ive read that a bad alternator can cause this too.
any ideas?
EDIT: All lights in the cluster are working

well lets see here.... try to jump start the car or atleast make sure the battery is charged, if you still only hear a click its most likely your starter. as for the speedometer, check your connection to the speed sensor

ok well.. something i just noticed: recently (over the last couple weeks) every time i touch my car--like to open or close the door for instance--I get a shock, and a pretty strong one at that... i thought it was just static electricity but now im thinkin its a short somewhere

is it dry out? i dont think that it will be a short. the bare metal of a car will have less resistance as you have so it would bypass whatever has more resistance. also, if its just a shock its static electricity, if it was a short, u would have to be holding onto the end of the wire thats bare and touch a ground.
