are springs a good idea?
Hey guys! I'm just wondering if putting springs into my 2k civic sir(si) is a good idea or not? I don't want to have it too low cause it snows here. I guess it's mainly to get the fender gap away...and a bit of performance...assuming if there is any.
I'm looking for a 1 to 1.5 inch drop. So far I've been told about the Eiback Pro kit springs.
Do you guys have any other suggestions? or is this a bad idea from the start?

I've got pro-kits on my SI *us* and they're great. I have no experience with snow to help you there. The springs rates aren't too stiff either and it still has a compliant ride with AGX shocks. HTH

First off, thanks for replying. I really appreciate it.
I forgot to mention that I probably will not get shocks. Probably stay with stock components. Only get the springs and have it installed.
Would that be a problem if I don't get shocks?

Well, i can't tell you what to do, but stock shocks are picky on how long they tend to last with lowering springs. They could last 6 months or a whole year. They reccomend to get springs/shocks at the same time. That way you'll only be paying/doing the install once. That's more of a personal preference. It also depends how the roads are there. hth

The roads where I am at are quite bad. Quite a bit of pot holes.
Even with only a 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch drop the stock shocks will eventually give out? Hmmm...I'll evaluate my choices again I guess...

Re: are springs a good idea? (bagelw)
I would love to get coil overs and all that, but the price is not good for me. I really don't have that much money for coil overs...that's why I was thinking about getting only lowering springs.
I don't think I will be doing racing or something. I mean...ocassionaly street, but that's all...
Any suggestions?

My current set up is COMPTECH springs with Bilsteins.
Really nice step up. The ride is not harsh at all
and the drop is about 1.5 inches. Perfect for
daily driver. Never scraped also..which is always good.
Go with Prokit or Comptech.

I installed sprint springs on my 95 DX 2 years ago. seems to be about a 2" drop. I too am on a budget, so I stayed with stock shocks, and I have had no problems. The car rides like it did the day I put them in; so rock on.
