Default Speedglass

I sent Percy's speedglass an email inquiring about pricing for 92-95 kits and they responded with this..

I did'nt realise they had differnt thickness'. naturally I would be looking at the thinnest ones for weight and cost. but is there a disadvatage for a street/strip car? I assume they would be thinner than the factory?

I'd say the thicker, the more impact protection it offers.

weekend dragster/daily driver. its Lexan with some kind of protectant to make it reslilient to scratching and its already moded, so its basically streetable.

I'd get the thickest I could for the windshield. I think that's common sense.

look at FAL's products. Its cheaper, molded, and high quality. You will save about 50lbs. Dont think its legal to put these windows on a street car, but you would have to have a pretty **** police officer to write you up for just that.

No they wont because its molded so it looks stock, its not riveted like the lexan used on race cars. however about the FAL, I looked into that before but the only make rear and corner windows. Speedglas has all that plus windshield and the door glass' and there are no logos like on FAL glass.

The FAL windows are molded I understand, but any cop that really knows what they are doing only has to see the FAL lettering on the window, or even if there isnt a logo on the window tap the window with their finger and they will be able to tell that it isnt glass, and not street legal. You are right though, FAL does only make the rear windows.
