I just pulled the plugs on my new to me 93 Del Sol Si. The gaps on all the plugs was near .060 or better. I adjusted them down to around .042. I have not driven it yet but my question is, would the gap being that big cause any drivability problems? The reason I ask is the car has had a low speed bucking problem since I got the car.

Any thoughts on this?

I will report back later after I take the car out for a spin and see if this helps with that problem. So far it seems to be a great little car. Everything works on the car. I just have not stuck a tape in the cassette player yet. The car is stock as a clock.

That did not fix the surging but the idle speed came down some.

When I pulled in the garage I pushed on the pedal down easily to see what would happen to the engine speed. Just off idle the speed goes up to 1500 RPM and will hover there and surge till it jumps up to 2500 RPM and will surge again. I am letting the engine cool off so I can get in there and check the TPS.

I am going to move on to the FITV and IACV. This car appears to have never been apart. I tried earlier to remove the bolts on the FITV and I felt if I put anymore torque on the bolts I may break them trying to loosen them. Do the bolts break very often?
