Default Solid cel / code 0

Ok I'm getting a solid cel when I turn my ignition on ,

I have checked all grounds , all ok
Have replaced main relay and soldered some harness wires as some were burnt

When I turn the ignition on I hear the fuel pump , but not sure on spark

Only thing I haven't done is check with another ecu , ( mines is p28 chipped btw) , which I will do soon

The thing is the problem is intermittent , it happened a
Month back , I fiddled with a few things and it was fine for a month (car would start and drive )

Sometimes randomly the cel will Go off and the car will start , and sometimes the cel will flicker rapidly and back to solid

Question is , since this is intermittent , how likely is it the ecu is bad ? I have heard other people with the same problem but they cannot start at all , this will start randomly at times

Just swap ECUs. Playing a guessing game at this point is counter-productive.

Poor you. I wonder what it would be like when your ECU finally manages to die altogether? That weeks wait will be an eternity.

??? I don't understand your response. You need another ECU to test to see if yours is on the way out and you won't get one because you have to buy one and wait for it to show up? And somehow we're supposed to tell you if your ECU is going out? And I'm saying if your ECU is on the way out, dies, and you didn't have a replacement what will you be doing then?

Chances are it is your ECU.

If you can't do any intelligent diagnostics, swap and guess.

I have ordered a new ecu , it's on it's way

In the meantime I just want to see if any one else has any experience with this
Because from what I've read if the ecu is the problem , then the car will not start in any condition .
So even though I know the chances are it's the ecu , ^^ this makes me think otherwise

There is no concrete set of symptoms for ECU failure. Sometimes they continue to work causing issues and sometimes not. And with a chipped ECU thrown into the mix then who knows?

Have you tried to pull a code? And! Double check the ECU ground at the thermostat.

Check whether hood fuse 44 or dash fuse 13 is loose.

Is either a little loose? Have you tried replacing them?
