So wtf, are my brand new axles bad??
A couple weeks ago I put in brand new Drive Shaft Shop axles. I figured I'd do it the right way with DSS axles. The bastards cost me $290. Ever since then, I get a vibration when I accelerate. I just got an alignment, hoping that just maaybe that would fix it. But it didn't. I had no problems like that with my old leaky axles. Could my brand new, quality axles be bad? If not, what else could it be?

Did the alignment shop say anything was out of place or anything like that? Might want to call DSS and see what they say, more then likely youll be able to send it in and theyll give you an another set. What stage did you get?

I just got the OEM replacement axles. I bought them through a dealer here on HT.

My best guess is that, you installed the axels incorrectly & you should quickly review it agian before it becomes extremly damaged.

Re: So wtf, are my brand new axles bad?? (Yikez itz Jayr)
I have brand new wheels and tires that were mounted and balanced 3 weeks ago. They were fine before I put these new axles in. So it shouldn't be that.
I don't know how I could have installed them wrong. I installed axles one other time and that was when I swapped out my D16Y8 for a B18C. Thats was back in July. Never had any problems.
I pushed the new axles as far as they could go into the trans and onto the intermediate shaft. And as far as they could go into the hubs.
I'll pull off my wheels and get under my car to check them out tomorrow.

check make sure the axle nut is secured tightly next i would replace the wheel bearing if that has not ever been replaced.. i believe its a 60k mile service part. i replaced my passenger side at 140 ish. driverside is still on over 150 on body. axles are an ez replacement. if you can get the damn nut off.. LOL. just stripped mine today! will take a bit to get it off. tried multiple ideas. from heating-to welding. bitch will not come off. well good luck with both of your problems!

If he said only vibrate on acceleration, it must something deal with the drive axles.
For Mastakmk -- I think all you need is Ingersol Rand 2135Ti to get the nut off ....

Dude, learn a little before you speak about stuff you dont understand. They can not be installed incorrectly as they only go in/on one way.

I am having a similar problem and I am about to replace all my ball joints, both axles and my tie rod ends.
If that doesn't fix everything maybe it is on to the balance of the tires and wheel bearing.
(Just so you know, I am replacing these things out of need, not to fix the problem of vibration, although I did connect these parts with the possiblility of them fixing the vibration under acceleration.)
I will let you know...
