cardone axles?
Whuttssup fellas! I was just wondering if anyone has used cardone axles. I drive a 1996 Integra in need of new axles up front, are they any good? NAPA is charging about $87 a piece for brand new cardone axles with lifetime manufacture warranty. What do you think? I am more than a conservative driver. Or would anyone recommend another brand for about the same price range that performs as good as OEM? Thanks!
Running Cardone Select axles for a little over two years. That's not really long enough to mean much, but at least they haven't blown up...
The Cardone 'Select' line are built from all-new components and seem to have a decent reputation. I doubt they are anywhere near OEM quality, but they should last a few years, at the least.
Raxles http://www.raxles.com/ are a bit spendier, but are of excellent quality.
My local Honda dealer has reconditioned axles for surprisingly little (considering it's a stealership!) I'd assume they do a proper refurb job.
IMO, I'd avoid the cheaper rebuilt stuff. They'll get you on the road, but are likely to rapidly fail due to possible use of overly worn components. Once the case hardening is gone, that part of the joint needs to be tossed, but a cheap refurb shop might use it anyway.

Just an old 92 Accord wagon. Dead stock, and I usually drive it like an old fart.
There is a fun twisty road nearby where I do the 'Italian Tune Up' every few weeks. Still, it's hardly a sports car, and the engine's 'killer' ~130 HP is not exactly stressing the axles.
I'd guess I have 25K on the Cardones, with no issues or noises of any sort.
Eveything I've heard (only about 2 first hand accounts!) says the Raxles are good stuff.
