so i know this isnt really tech but....
i've asked in the paint and body section and no one has given me an answer and i also searched it....so hopefully there is someone out there that will give me an answer..
i picked up a bumper and its got some deep deep scratches on it (so bad its like the plastic is actually what i feel when touching it) . i was wondering how i would go about getting rid of those before i get it painted and put on my car. sand it? bondo it? sand and bondo? i really have no clue since i've never done anything like this before but i got the bumper for free so i figured i have a free chance to do it myself. all help is surely appreciated!!!

dont use bondo itself, bondo make a glaze filler, its a tube that you buy and its used for fillin in minor imperfections... it will be less messy then bondo

sand off the scratches so that its all smooth then simply spread a little glazing putty over it from the tube with a body filler spatula, smooth that out and get it relatively flat.
sand it off, then repeat if needed.I would start of with 220 and go up from there,220-340,480..
