Re: smoking coupe (hatchhondagreg)
I would pull a plug on it and see what that looks like, also check timing to see about that motor shaking and the not running smooth part.

Re: smoking coupe (prendi)
i've always thought if white smoke is coming out it means the motor is running too lean and black smoke means the motor is running too rich. correct me if i'm wrong.

Re: smoking coupe (AzntaggeR)
If you have water spitting out of your tailpipe after the car has been running for a while(operating temp.) and also if you rev it up and clouds of white smoke billow out from the tailpipe then you have a blown headgasket. You can tell the difference between just simple heat variations.. like running a car in the winter you will always get white smoke.. that is totally different from what I just explained above.
Another good way to tell if the headgasket is blown remove the radiator cap and let the car run.. of course fill if it is needed. Let it get to operating temp and rev it up a few times.. if you have a bunch of bubbles coming from the radiator then you most likely have a headgasket or in certain cases.. a leak in the hoses and or radiator itself. A visual inspection is always good.
Black smoke is rich.. too much gas and not enough air
