I have a 99 civic hatchback cx recently just picked it up couple months. I am running a Ls motor. Smoke is coming from under the hood and exhaust i was just wondering wuts the problem. Is it the o2 sensor? because i recently tried 2 put on dc headers and 1 of my friends told me to cut off the o2 sensor to put on the DC header. everytime im driving like about 5 minutes the check engine light will start flashing when i stop my idle drops to 0 and try's to stall can any1 help me.

where is the smoke coming from under the hood, and what color is the exhaust.

Blue its oil
white water/antifreeze, sweet smelling
black running rich and smells like gas

if the car has a breather filter on the valve cover, with would be dumb since the car isnt boosted, the crank case is venting and its possible your blowing smoke out the filter

i think the smoke is coming from the header. its white smoke could it be the o2 sensor or blown head gasket?

could be head gasket, check the coolant over flow tank or drain your radiator and see if there is any flakes of **** in he water and or combustion gasses, and drian the oil, see if there is any water/antifreeze there.

The o2 wouldnt cause it. If could cause the car to run rich or lean though.

it looks like white smoke but it smells alot like gasoline when im driving it shoots out crazy out of the exhaust and under the hood im pretty sure the smoke is coming from the header because when i rev the car i see smoke coming out from the headers

like where on the header, where it meets the block, like an exhaust leak, a crack in the header, its leaking from some where.

u see the connected peice to the header the smoke is coming from rite there the middle part

so your saying where the upper half(from the exhaust ports) to the lower half(after merging to 2 then to the cat). If thats where, try seperating them and try some exhaust sealant putty or a gasket? Dont know if a gasket goes in there on the stock manifold, i know on a header it would.

But since you have lots of white smoke out the exhaust id still check for sysptoms of the blown head gasket.
