Default Smog Exempt

I want to smog exempt my car here in Cali, but the only way to do that is to Use and Alternative Fuel. So if i put on the E85 Conversion kit and take it to a Ref will he be able to say that the car is smog exempt? I have been looking into it and done a little Research and was curious.

You want to be smog exempt for the sake of performance, right? What setup are you running that you would rather convert to E85 that to tune your ECU to meet emissions?

you can run e-85 with realtively low modifications...................if you already have CROME........just remove all the rubber from your fuel system and larger injectors (you might have it already)

general rule of thumb to get the same power on e-85 you must dispense an extra 10 percent of fuel

sooooooooooooooo ya if you're turbo a simple retune would do it

so once we show the ref we run E85 we never have to get our cars smogged again? even if we have a turbo on the car? that seems way to easy.

LOL not even close......................paperwork, inspections, and you still have to smog an E85 car.................what your looking for is propane and or pure ethonal to become smog exempt, but the op asked if he can run e85..........and the answer is yes he can

that make sense. i didnt know you had to smog an E85 vehicle. i thought it was and alternative fuel, but it still has that 15% gasoline. anyone ever switch to like propane or pure Ethonal. I know i could run E85 with simple upgrades but it seem too easy if that was the case to get it smog exempt.
